a fresh start to…

February 23, 2013

Sometimes you just need a fresh start…to something old. My website/blog was something I have not been thrilled about for a while now. Two weeks ago I was on Instagram searching for some inspiration for DeJaVu graphics when I started seeing things that inspired me. I knew I needed to finally fix my photography website & brand it, but I needed help. I then began my search to find an awesome graphic designer to help me with a new concept. I found several I really liked but as I was writing an email to one it hit me, I have been a “graphic designer” for a successful clothing brand for 2+ years, I have self taught myself around photoshop, I deal with the graphic side of art daily…I could totally brand my company…I just needed to tell myself I could. I needed to give myself the confidence. So I did. I started from nothing & built my blog up. I searched for hours for the perfect elements, I brainstormed, I got advice, & I even learned a lot along the way. This is something I am extremely proud of. Working in my spare time along side having a full time job has is disadvantages, but I was working toward something I am passionate about. I love it with all my heart. So here it is my new home page & my new blog in one. While it is still a work in progress, it is finally something I won’t cringe about when someone asks if I have a website. I will be proud to share it with them!

The whole process of designing my blog was so much fun! I didn’t realize how rewarding it was going to be, but I also didn’t realize how totally awesome of a project it was…a total blast! My resume with graphic designing & branding isn’t the best, but this is something else I would love to do! Giving people something to be proud of that showcases their art, their work, or their talents is something I am so excited to do! So that is something the future holds, something the near future holds…something I am excited & proud of…a fresh start!

I wanted to share my design board of the branding process of my website. This board is what brought my idea to life!
